It is important that you communicate to your prospects that trusting you is a sound business decision. You want to give them a clear message of why to do business with you rather than doing business with someone else. You want to communicate the value you can provide to your prospect. Top sales people inspire trust with their prospects and find a solution on what their prospects are seeking.

Throughout the conversation, you need to assume command and control where the conversation is going. When you are meeting with your prospect you need to first introduce your name, where you are calling from and the purpose of your call. For example, when I am on the phone with my prospect I will say “Hello John this is Ted Hunsaker from California. I am calling you because you stopped by my website recently and requested more information about working from home. Are you still looking for information?”

You need to find out what your prospect is looking for and why. It is important that you listen to your prospect carefully so that you can determine where you are in the process. Remember, prospecting is a process and not an event. You need to determine if they are ready to buy or if they need more information.

Finding key requirements among quality buyers is essential. You need to educate yourself and your prospects before getting them to buy from you. You need to look at each prospect as an opportunity as well as a relationship that you develop over time.

A decision of whether or not to buy from you needs to be made in less than 72 hours if the amount involved is $1,000 or less. Remember that 85% of your prospects will buy from you based on emotion while only 15% buy based on logic, facts and figures. This is why you need to let them know that the product involved provides opportunities for reward, being part of a team, creating value, etc.

During the first meeting you will need to ask for the next appointment. You should give them two options for days and times. You should schedule a time that is convenient for both of you. You will need to listen to their response carefully. For example, if they say “I will try to make it tomorrow at 8pm.” Then you should be a little concerned about your prospects commitment with the opportunity.

You should always ask for referrals since they are free and the people who are referred to you trust you because the trust the person that gave you their name and contact information. You can earn trust based on a chain of referrals.

You will also want to begin early and stay late. The person who usually does this in the business world is the owner of the business. You want to start early so that you can have some quiet time to get ready for the day.

Finally you will want to maintain your sense of humor by maintaining a positive energetic posture since people like to work with people who have a sense of humor and are energetic.

If you develop and implement those seven essential habits you will be able to take your network marketing business to the next level.
