How Golf Relates to Online Network Marketing

My Golf Experience

For those of you who don’t know me on a personal level, I love to play golf. I have played golf since my high school years. At times the game can be very frustrating, especially if you are new to the sport and just learning how to play it.

When I first started playing golf, it took me time to learn how to hit the ball straight. I would hook it left or slice it right. It would end up in the water hazard or out of bounds many times. I would lose a lot of balls during those first few round.

But since I took lessons from golf professionals and practice perfecting my swing, I improved my game and eventually broke 90 and eventually 80.

How Golf Relates to Network Marketing

So how does the game of golf relate to Online and Network Marketing? When most people start marketing online, they usually don’t make the money they desire right away. Most people will usually spend more money than they bring in.

Like in golf, if you want to start seeing better results in your network marketing business, then you need to get some instruction. You could do that by taking courses in online marketing.

Some of them will be for free like the free webinars that different marketing systems and leaders offer. However, it is best to invest some money in your online marketing education. Many of the most successful online marketers have spent thousands of dollars in online education and have made their investment back 10 fold.

By learning the marketing strategies you learn in the courses and implementing them on a consistent basis, you should start seeing some results.

Remember that you need to practice the strategies you learn in your online marketing education courses consistently. You should focus on using one or two strategies such as video marketing or Facebook Pay Per Click (PPC) and master those strategies until you generate 20 leads a day.

When you start using a strategy, you usually won’t start getting the results you want right away. You will have to make tweaks to your marketing until you get the results you want. When I was learning how to swing the golf club a better way I did not have the results I wanted instantly. It took me time to make tweaks to my golf swing until I got it right.

Its not the Network Marketing Company. Its You.

Many people that play golf will blame their bad game on the clubs in their bag. However, although some clubs will do a better job at getting the ball farther down the fairway and on the green, they will not improve your game.

This is the same with people jumping from one company to another. They think the reason why they are struggling is because it’s something to do with the company and compensation plan. It is actually themselves whom they need to improve through training and personal development.

By educating yourself and learning the skills necessary for online network marketing success, you will eventually see better results in your network marketing business. Remember you have to be consistent with your marketing efforts.

How to Build Trust in Network Marketing

In network marketing, building trust with your prospects is very critical for your success in the industry. As a network marketer, you are in the business of making sales. If your prospects don’t have trust in you, you will not make any sales. You are probably wondering what steps you need to take in order to build trust with your prospects so that they will want to buy from you.

Since you are in the network marketing industry, you need to talk to people to build relationships of trust with them. The conversations that you initiate with someone eventually turns into relationships of trust which then leads to making a sale.

Of course you will need a way to turn complete strangers into friends and friends into customers or distributors. This is called your sales cycle. In your sales cycle, there are 6 components that you should follow.

1. Create Product or Service Awareness

You can create product or service awareness in many ways. You could blog or write an article about it. You can also do a Youtube video if you are comfortable getting in front of a camera. You will want to talk about your experiences and frustrations and how you found a solution to solve those issues.

2. Provide value and solutions by showcasing you knowledge for free.

To provide value, you can make a video or write an article that will send people to your website or blog. On your blog, people could sign up for a free five-day training course for example.

3. Continue to give value but offer something to your prospect that costs money.

Although it is nice to offer information for free, you should offer your prospects a low cost item for them to buy. This should be something that costs $50 or less and that is worth 10 times the value.

4. Over deliver on the low cost purchase by inviting them to something special

One way to over deliver is to provide private team training which you could do through live video or skype. This should be done on a weekly basis. If you are new and your sponsor already has something like that, then you should mention that in your ads and invite your downline to the meetings.

5. Offer your customer a higher priced Item.

This is where you introduce your customer to your primary business. This item requires more time commitment and dedication. Remember that you should only invite those who are serious about growing the business.

6. Rinse and Repeat Daily

You need to evaluate where your network marketing business is heading and make adjustments as necessary. Find out what is working and what is not working. Continue to do the things that are working for you and discontinue doing things that are not working for you.  Find out what areas in your business need improvement and take steps to improve in those areas.

As a network marketer, you will need to constantly be doing this. You need to be prospecting and meeting new people on a daily basis. Remember that most of your prospects will not buy from you or join your primary business right away since they are not ready to buy or just don’t trust you YET. But when they are ready to buy and they do trust you, you will start making sales.
